THE MERCY OF JUSTICE WELCOMES YOU
Shoulders to Lean On
During my time as a teacher, I have encountered many members of staff, who like myself, entered the profession with passion and drive. Regrettably, this changes and we feel the spark begin to dim. Many of us start to lack confidence whilst we are still expected to: manage difficult classrooms, meet deadlines and maintain national educational standards. Despite these challenges, many teachers attempt to battle through them. Others find it difficult due to minimal support and poor leadership. I have seen excellent educators leave the profession due to the miserable environment that eventually impacts the wellbeing of staff and students.
I have also witnessed pupils, especially middle attainers fail to make expected progress . It is fair to say that they are ‘the forgotten group’ as they are often overlooked. Ofsted are looking for an inclusive approach in education but it is difficult for teachers to accommodate middle attainers when the focus is always on most able students and low attainers.
Finally, there is a massive rise in supported accommodation. Many of the young people that live in them are incredibly vulnerable. Some will say that they haven’t had the best start in life. These individuals need support and direction. Vital life skills are needed for them to become independent, successful, members of society.
I would like to build a community for individuals going through similar experiences . I believe that this is a safe space, where people of all backgrounds can share their personal experiences, challenges and listen to others. Most importantly, my aim is to ensure that each individual is given the opportunity to grow!
ABOUT THE MERCY OF JUSTICE
Our Mission
I know many unions are stretched at the moment. My mission is to support teachers that have experienced injustice. I would like to offer support with repairing damaged relationships between colleagues and even members of leadership. I would like to support teachers that currently lack confidence or would like to build some resilience. I am able to support with planning and preparing engaging lessons.
Parents and teachers that require support with the progression of middle attainers can benefit from support via workshops, mentoring and tailored resources.
Service providers, social workers, looking for support with young people in supported accommodation, can get support with cleaning lessons, cooking lessons and wellbeing sessions. Maths and English support is also available, as well as, support building a CV.
